What can I expect with a deep dental cleaning?

Deep cleaning is also known in the dental world as scaling and root planing. Scaling involves removing plaque and tartar from the surface of the teeth and from the pocket area between the teeth and gums.

Our dental cleanings are extremely thorough. We set aside 1 hour for our patients which includes 45 minutes of light and gentle hand scaling. The rest of the 15 minutes, our dental hygienist will spend time with you to assess the overall health of your gums and teeth. She will also go over any patient concerns, education and potential treatment plans.

While at our office, we make sure that you receive the highest level of service and ensure that Kathleen’s hygiene work is of the highest quality. To ensure that you maintain great oral health, her level of quality needs to extend into your personal oral hygiene routine. She can help you establish a dental hygiene routine that will keep your teeth healthy and white. If you have any questions about your current hygiene plan please feel free to ask her any questions.
